Let’s get started!

I started delivering classroom presentations in 1977 by putting clear acetate sheets of photocopied textbook pages on an overhead projector. In 1995 I started using PowerPoint for creating training materials as the training manager in an international company. The rest, as they say is history.

In 2007 I came across Cliff Atkinson’s first version of ‘Beyond Bullet Points‘ after I’d started converting my own slides. Went on to Garr Reynolds’ work ‘Presentation Zen‘ then explored Nancy Duarte’s ideas about design in her book ‘silde:ology‘.

You’ll se references to these and many other works in these posts. There are links to Aristotle’s ideas throughout their books as well.

OK – If Aristotle used PowerPoint he would not use bullet points. Ever. He believed in ‘deductive’ learning and bullet points are used by people who think in terms of ‘inductive’ learning. Opposite concepts.
